Wine Tour
Our group was extremely disappointed that we only had time to visit two of the three wineries. Our tour guide was nice; however he would take over our wine tasting experiences from the employees at the winery. The tour guide did not use time management well which made us have to rush through lunch just to be able to visit a 2nd winery. It is a fully packed itinerary, but I feel like most of our delays and wasted time was caused by our guide. If most tours aren’t able to visit 3 wineries as well as the town visit then I recommend you change the description on your site or adjust the times/itinerary. We were not given a choice of what winery would be omitted from our itinerary due to the time constraint.

Thanks for taking the time to post your review. Pity that you didn't clearly express your wishes or disappointment at the time. As sommelier guides, we don't just hand you over to the employees at the vineyards. That may be how you have experienced wine tours in the USA, but our tours are not to same here. You get a fully narrated day, including the tutored tastings, where we can transmit so much more about our local wine culture, French wine in general, art de vivre, local history and so on.....all in proper English, as not all the people in the wineries speak English. Our philosophy, and this approach, is pretty clearly described on our website and listings. This is one of the reasons that people love coming on tour with us, as evidenced by the overwhelming 5-star reviews that we get. On the day, you were offered the choice to have more time to visit & explore the beautiful village of Saint Paul de Vence where you had your lunch break (which some visitors apreciate having), or to visit a 3rd vineyard. You also had the added benefit of a stop at yet another medieval hilltop village in Saint Jeannet, where you had a morning coffee stop and where your nice guide took photos of you and your two friends in the stunning landscape. The time of year that you were here in France was right in the middle of the grape harvest period, and so you also had chance to apreciate, up-close, the grape pressing and the new wines being fermented, and to learn first-hand about this whole fascinating part of the wine making process. We do indeed specify in our tour descriptions that itineraries can vary according to the work that is going on in the wineries, as these are working environments . You only get to go behind the scenes like this, due to our long-standing relationships with the owners. We hope that you now have a fuller understanding and will be delighted to take you to visit more, different vineyards and wineries if you come back this way. Bon voyage.....
